What will computers be like in the future

Posted by: h0n24 In: Hardware

Maybe I am so conservative but I think that we will use mouse and keyboard like we use them now. Computers will be more usefully and more handy. Can you imagine that you are touching monitor for two hours? No, you will use mouse rather. Or can you imagine to write on laser keyboard for couple minutes without feeling keys and hearing their clapping?

No this way.

Computers, operating systems and programs will be quicker. There will be no starting the computer for 40 seconds (or common 1 minute +), because you will not shutdown it. Everything will hibernate. If you will exit some application, it will stay launched but specially minimized – hibernated. Without slowing operating system.

When comes outage, everything will boot from special flash based RAM and you will continue at your work. Your data will be stored at some TeraByte disks, not ExaByte (thousand of Tera Bytes), because who needs more space than 5, maximally 10 TB?

Your CPU will contain some cores, but not more than 8, or 16, because you will not employ them all.

But graphic cards (GPUs) could be more occupiend than processors. You will use 4, 8, maybe 12 GPU cores.

It will be amazing experience for PC game players. There will be high resolution textures. Special lighting which is reflecting from objects (like in reality). Every game is playing and buying online. You will not buy games, but stuff in them. Do you need better sword? So pay. Do you need new car? Pay.

Computers will be smaller, totally silenced and ecologic. But not hidden at watches, pens, pencils or mobile phones. Computers will be still computers. And everybody will love them. Almost.
